Software inside the possessed PC ================================ The possessed PC (https://arunnetworkingpro.com/labs/possessed-pc.html) runs free and open-source software. Here is what it contains and where to get the source code for every piece of it. 1. Debian GNU/Linux 12 "bookworm" (i386) The disk image is built from unmodified Debian 12 packages (base image i386/debian:bookworm), including the Linux kernel (linux-image-686), GNU Bash, GNU coreutils and the other tools listed in debian-packages.txt. Each package keeps its own license; Debian copies them into /usr/share/doc//copyright inside the image (try: less /usr/share/doc/bash/copyright). Exact package names and versions: debian-packages.txt (next to this file). Columns: binary package, binary version, source package, source version. Source code for each source package and version: https://sources.debian.org/src/// https://snapshot.debian.org/package/// e.g. https://snapshot.debian.org/package/bash/5.2.15-2/ Our own additions on top of Debian (the missions in ~/missions, the welcome messages and Easter eggs) are scripts you can read right inside the machine. 2. SeaBIOS rel-1.16.2 (seabios.bin, vgabios.bin): LGPL-3.0 Source: https://github.com/coreboot/seabios/tree/rel-1.16.2 3. v86 (libv86.js, v86.wasm): BSD-2-Clause, see LICENSE-v86.txt Source: https://github.com/copy/v86 4. xterm.js (xterm.js, xterm.css): MIT, see LICENSE-xterm.txt Source: https://github.com/xtermjs/xterm.js Written offer ------------- For at least three years from the date below, anyone may email arun@arunnetworkingpro.com and receive a complete copy of the corresponding source code for the GPL and LGPL software in this image, for no more than the cost of physically sending it. Last updated: 4 October 2026 libv86.js carries one local fix (9 Oct 2026): AsyncXHRPartfileBuffer.get applies written blocks (handle_read) before copying a freshly fetched chunk into the result, so reads see the guest's own writes.
